The Surf Gallery features a world class exhibition of vintage surfboards called “Evolution of the Surfboard”. The exhibition takes visitors on a journey from the beginnings of surfing in ancient Polynesia, through to the modern reincarnation of surfing in the 1960’s and then through the decades to the current era. Over 80 beautifully restored vintage surfboards and skateboards are on display, along with photographs, information panels, a movie room, plus viewing windows into an operational shaping and glassing workshop.
The exhibition is a self-guided tour and has an entry fee of $10 for adults, $7.50 for concession and under 12’s free. Enjoy coffee and cake in the adjacent Surf Shack or browse through our merchandise area to take home a reminder of your visit to The Surf Gallery.
We are open from Wednesday to Sunday between 10:00am and 4:00pm.
