Located in the grounds of the historic McKenzie House, McKenzie Studio presents the work of woodworker Richard Harris (McKenzie Woodworks) and artist Nina Thomson.
Richard works with timber to build objects that explore the range between form and function. His marquetry boxes are designed to express the need for an object’s functionality whereas the sculptural pieces are an expression of abstracted thoughts. Richard has previously exhibited fine furniture at Gunyulgup Galleries in Yallingup.
Nina followed a career as a dancer with the Australian Ballet with art training at Claremont Art School. She has worked in theatre design, graphic design and fine arts both as a practitioner and gallery administrator. Her current work focuses on figurative drawing and painting, exploring the relationship between humans and the natural environment.
