Annie Johnson has lived in Albany for fourteen years and has immersed herself in the artist community. She has been continuing her journey with encaustic wax painting and finding there are very few boundaries between 2D and 3D work with this medium. Hence she has been exploring her desire to incorporate textiles, inks, stitching and collage materials in sculpture and paintings.

Encaustic wax painting is the process of heating beeswax with damar resin and paint pigment and painting with this luscious feel and a scent of beeswax which makes the artwork a 4D sensory experience. Annie also teaches encaustic wax workshops in her studio.
