Exploring Creativity: An Artistic Journey
Over the past 18 years, painting has evolved from my passion into a deeply personal exploration of creativity. This journey has encompassed the mediums of acrylic, watercolour, and encaustic wax painting, each contributing uniquely to the development of technique and expression.

Acrylics and Watercolours: Foundations of Technique
Acrylic and watercolour painting were my early explorations into the world of art. Acrylics offers a vibrant and versatile medium, allowing for experimentation with texture and layering. Watercolour, with its delicate transparency and fluidity, provides a contrasting challenge, requiring precision and control. These experiences laid the foundation for mastering different artistic techniques and understanding the interplay of color, light, and composition.

The Allure of Encaustic Wax Painting
The discovery of encaustic wax painting marked a turning point in my artistic journey. This ancient medium, blending hot beeswax, damar resin, and pigments, proved to be both versatile and inspiring. Encaustic wax allows for the creation of both 2D and 3D artworks, offering a new dimension to artistic expression. Its adaptability pushes the boundaries of creativity, enabling intricate layering, texturing, and even sculptural effects on a wood and paper substrates.

The Creative Process
Working with encaustic wax involves a meticulous process of heating and fusing layers of beeswax mixed with pigments onto a wood surface. Each layer is fused with a heat source, creating depth and a luminous quality unique to this medium. The unpredictability of wax as it cools and hardens introduces an element of spontaneity, balancing technical skill with artistic intuition.
