The Butter Factory Studios is a co-operative of ten local artists who exhibit their various art forms in a former butter factory. The gallery displays contemporary fine art in rambling industrial spaces and the work of other local artists is featured in the top floor gift shop.
Workshops are frequently held in the downstairs studio space and have covered claywork, printmaking, eco dyeing, felting, drawing, mosaics and encaustic. Community engagement, promotion of local talent and personal development are regarded as essential components of their business. The gallery spaces are a popular venue for music, performance, poetry readings, book launches and other cultural events.
Open Thursday to Tuesday, 10am to 4pm. Open every day during school holidays, excluding July holidays. Closed Christmas Day and Good Friday.
