I began my art career with a Diploma in Graphic Design and worked in a design studio in Perth WA in 1973. Over the next 40 plus years I worked in and produced art work for a wide range of industries. I started my own marketing and design business in 1994 and along this ‘commercial’ journey, created fine art pieces for exhibition and commissions.
I love printmaking in many forms, especially linocut, also produce drawings mainly in coloured pencil. I work in mixed media pieces in both 2D and 3D forms including producing Artist’s Books. Living in Albany my inspiration comes from the natural world around me.
I have a focus on endangered flora and fauna species of the region, rendering these in linocuts, drawings, etchings, books, and with poetry. A major influence is still my four years spent as a Guide for the Art Gallery of WA.
I teach art classes in the region, mainly from my own home studio – The Merry Press – where I make and show my works. Visitors are welcome by Appointment.
Overlooking Princess Royal Harbour in Little Grove, I am reminded every day of the beauty and joy that art brings us.
