Mitchell House Arts Centre is a community arts group based in an historical building (old post office) leased from the Shire of Plantagenet.
Groups meet weekly to be creative in textiles, clay, and draw/paint. With access to kilns, we have a growing interest in pottery. Guidance rather than instruction is provided to members and workshops are organised from time to time.
You can find us across the road from the old railway station (current visitor centre) on Albany Hwy in Mt Barker. Look for the pink building with white picket fence that was once the old post office.
Groups meet on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday please email for details of activities.
Mitchell House as a gallery space is normally open Friday – Sunday 10am – 4pm, but please check on Facebook to avoid disappointment.
The organisation manages the Plantagenet Art Prize.
