Relocating to Walpole W.A. in 2001 I began exploring the possibilities of encaustics first practiced by the ancient Greek & Romans.
My journey with art is very important to me exploring new ways to portray theme combining various mediums with encaustic. Always striving to create a connection between the viewer and my art.

MORGAN BURKE
Morgan was born in Denmark Western Australia. Her work is currently being displayed at The Cheeky Parrot art gallery in Mount Barker. She grew up on a coastal farm with my very special family in Denmark WA. She was lucky enough to have a home full of lots of love, laughter, freedom and a big brother who to this day is still her best friend. Surrounded by Paper bark trees, green rolling hills, the ocean so close you could hear the waves crash on the shore in the evenings, stars which light up the night sky, singing frogs, cows, kangaroos, native birdlife and so much more. She could not feel more blessed to call it my home.
A lot of her art consists of “ quirky women” which came from the beautiful women in her life. Her mum, two gorgeous aunties, Nana and Great grandmother, would meet at the farm and hand build the most inspiring clay sculptures which mostly consisted of naked bodies intertwined with nature. She just loved it! They taught me to embrace women’s body in art form and in person.
Recently I’ve been on a bit of a travel journey. And have started to draw inspiration from my travels, which is seen in a few of my pieces. Travel has extended my colour pallet, made me want to test my landscape abilities and try to capture the wonderful places I have visited so far.
